GB WhatsApp Hide Blue Ticks – Privacy & Read Receipts

In WhatsApp, blue ticks—also called blue read receipts—appear when someone opens a message you sent and reads it. This feature is part of the official app and is also supported in GB WhatsApp.

When you send a message, a single gray checkmark means the message is sent. Double gray checkmarks mean it is delivered. Double blue checkmarks appear when the recipient has read your message. GB WhatsApp lets you hide the blue ticks so the sender never sees that you have read their message.

Open GB WhatsApp and go to GB Settings > Privacy > Hide Blue Ticks. Toggle the option to the on position. From this point onward, when you read a message, the sender will see only the delivered checkmarks—they will not know whether you have opened and read it.

GB WhatsApp includes a Ghost Mode that goes beyond hiding blue ticks. Ghost Mode hides your last seen timestamp, your online status, your typing indicator, and blue ticks all at once—giving you near-complete invisibility while using the app.

Hiding blue ticks is a legitimate privacy feature, but be aware that it works both ways—while senders cannot see when you have read their messages, you also cannot see when others have read yours unless they are using the official WhatsApp without privacy modifications.

For account safety, the anti-ban guide recommends not overloading privacy features simultaneously, as enabling many privacy toggles at once can create unusual server communication patterns that look like an attempt to evade detection.

Some users find that after enabling hide blue ticks, they still see blue ticks on messages they send to others. This is because the other person's app still sends read receipts—GB WhatsApp's privacy controls affect what you reveal, not what others reveal about themselves.

If you see blue ticks from contacts even after enabling Ghost Mode, it means the contact is using WhatsApp without privacy modifications. You cannot control what others send from their side of the conversation.

Can others see that I have hidden blue ticks? No. Hiding blue ticks is invisible to other users. They simply see delivered checkmarks instead of read checkmarks.

Can I hide blue ticks for individual chats? Yes. In GB WhatsApp, you can set privacy options per chat. Open a specific chat, go to its privacy settings, and configure blue tick visibility for that conversation independently.

Does hiding blue ticks affect my ability to see when others have read my messages? Yes. If you hide blue ticks, you also lose the ability to see read receipts from others by default. You can enable one-side visibility in GB Settings if you only want to hide your own blue ticks.
